A Short & Sweet Ceremony option is perfect for couples who want an elopement or small wedding in the Newcastle area. Short & Sweet Ceremonies are an easy & fun, convenient, intimate & heartfelt way to marry your partner – without the stress & expense of a traditional wedding.
With the closure of the our local NSW Births, Deaths & Marriages in Hamilton couples don’t have to travel to Sydney to visit and marry in the Registry Offices in Chippendale or Parramatta. Get married in an elopement style ceremony – just the two of you with your witnesses or a few of your nearest and dearest!
A Short & Sweet Ceremony is exactly that – short- you’ll be Mr & Mrs before you know it & sweet – heartfelt & lovely. I am happy to provide you with little ways that you can personalise your ceremony. Of course, you always have the option to make your vows a little more romantic and meaningful too! If you just want the minimum legal wording, that’s perfectly fine as well.
Most importantly, even though it is short & sweet, it is absolutely 100% a legal ceremony. I will clearly explain everything you need to do and all of the documents you will need to provide along the way to meet all of the requirements of marrying in Australia.
You can have a Short & Sweet Ceremony anywhere! You can get married in your home or back yard, in a park or on a beach, at a cafe or restaurant or at a venue. Please be aware that booking fees may be payable for some locations. With my years of experience, I am happy to help advise you on the perfect location if you are undecided or are not familiar with the local area.
The current ceremony fee for a Short & Sweet Ceremony are –
$395 – MONDAY to FRIDAY
$495 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY
As these are an elopement style ceremony and similar in style to a Registry Office ceremony there is a MAXIMUM 10 – 15 GUESTS – including your 2 witnesses. If you want to elope in secret, I can provide the witnesses for you and I am fabulous at keeping secrets.
As your Celebrant I offer you….
o An obligation free meeting – it’s important you feel comfortable and have complete trust in your chosen Celebrant.
o Face to face meetings to complete the paperwork and get to know you.
o Phone/email support for all couples.
o Completion of all of the legal documentation and prompt online registration of your marriage.
o Online application of your official Marriage Certificate with New South Wales Births, Deaths & Marriage (Currently the fee for the certificate is $56 which is payable to BDM).
o Performing your ceremony in your home or at a location within the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland & Pokolbin Vineyard areas only*
*Conditions apply for any additional travel to other areas
o A beautifully presented keepsake copy of your ceremony.
o PA system for background music.
