The Newcastle Registry Office has closed. I’m happy to offer couples an option that is budget friendly and convenient whilst still being a lovely way to marry. Perfect for couples looking to elope or who “just want get married”. You can have a ceremony just like at the Registry Office but without having to travel to Chippendale or Parramatta. A Short & Sweet Ceremony is exactly that – short, sweet and are perfect for couples looking for a legals only option!

I understand that a traditional wedding may not suit everyone. So many couples today want the option to be married with a lovely ceremony but without the frills, fuss and expense. Many couples don’t want the added expense of a wedding, especially when they may have mortgages and other financial commitments. Let’s face it getting married can be expensive BUT it doesn’t have to be. My Short & Sweet Ceremonies are the perfect way to celebrate the two of you with a few of your nearest and dearest family and friends!

I offer a beautiful, pre-written legal ceremony – of course, you always have the option to make your vows a little more personal but that‘s only if you wish too! These ceremonies are often liked by couples who don’t feel like they want to add any personal elements and they are completed in a matter of minutes. I think the absolute quickest one took five minutes – maximum!

Don’t forget that on the day you will need two witnesses. However, if you are eloping or travelling to the area from interstate, I am able to help you by providing the witnesses for your ceremony.

There are so many fabulous locations around the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas that are perfect for a simple and relaxed ceremony. You can choose your favourite spot but please be aware that council fees may still apply for some locations or ask me about some secluded little places. Couples can also marry at either my home or theirs. Once the ceremony is completed, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy and celebrate the way you want to. You’re not locked into one particular venue or style or time frame. After all it’s still your day, so I’m here to help you marry in your own way! You can still have a few photos, have a celebratory cake and all for less than many of the elopement packages on offer!

As with all marriages, the same legal requirements apply. You both must sign your Notice of Intention to Marry at least one calendar month prior to your ceremony date and provide documentation as to your identity and date and location of your birth. Within the ceremony, you still must state the legal wording, your full names must be mentioned and I must state the current legal definition of marriage in Australia.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to meet me in person to have a chat about your Short & Sweet Ceremony. Dates fill quickly so don’t miss out!
